This group is for parents (or caregivers) of children who would like to learn more about how to obtain appropriate special education services for their children. It is an opportunity to share experiences and insights, to form alliances with other parents, and to explore creative new ways of advocating for our children. This group is led by a Special Education Attorney/Advocate who is a parent of a child with an autism spectrum disorder and a child with ADHD. All parents are welcome to join, even …

Do you have a teenager who is quirky? Not very social or lacks social skills? Would you describe your son/daughter as a geek or nerd or antisocial just because they find it easier to not try to interact? I am the mother of a 15 year old interested in forming a Meet Up Group for quirky kids aged 14 - 16 to get together and play video games, build bionicles, watch Big Bang Theory or just to "hang out". I find it hard to believe that my son is the only kid in Weymouth, Braintree, Abington, Quincy o …

The purpose of the group is to provide support for parents whose kids have multiple needs and many acronyms (ASD, PDD-NOS, NVLD, HFA, SI, ADHD, etc.,!) I know there are other parents like me whose children need multiple therapies, appointments, school accommodations, parent-created behavior plans, and super-hero advocates in their parents. It is exhausting, overwhelming, and often isolating. I hope we can share resources and support, and have a little fun while we're at it. Feel free to e-mail m …
This group is for adults with ADHD and the people they are close to. We believe that these two groups of people will benefit the most by supporting each other and learning from each other as a single community. This enables us to leverage our relationships and collective wisdom for the growth of each member. To facilitate this we have a number of community building blocks: 1. Meetings for adults with ADHD 2. Meetings for adults who have a close relationship with an adult who has ADHD 3. Meetings …

Do you know a child with allergies, anxiety, stomachaches, a picky eater, ASD, ADHD, PDD-NOS, quirky etc. It can be challenging to teach children about healthy eating -- especially if the child is very picky and/or resistant to new foods. If you are a parent, a service provider, a grandparent, or a person living with special needs y …

I am mom to a 3 1/2 year old daughter diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum over a year ago. I've had a hard time making connections with other moms and dads with kids on the spectrum. I'd like to find some local friends to get together for coffee to vent and laugh over our struggles and triumphs. I'm thinking that once a week for an hour get together would be nice. But I'm flexible. Let's see what other local parents need. Let's support one another!
